About Us:

Independent Pipeline Services (IPSL), is a high-growth pipeline testing & leak detection company based in Rolleston, working throughout the South Island. 


We are searching for a Project Manager (water infrastructure sector) to join our management team. The role combines liaising with clients, engineers, project managers and council representatives to identify opportunities, prepare quotes and design plans to test and chlorinate pipelines, like pumping units, testing stations, and water tanks in accordance with strict IPSL and national standards.




About You:

Being flexible and good-humoured is essential, as most days you will be quoting, designing and scheduling work as well as managing clients and projects. We want people who are hardworking, who like getting their hands dirty and who know a job is only finished when the problem is solved, and the client is satisfied!


Like us, we expect you will be passionate about water quality and have some experience in the water infrastructure sector. To succeed, you need to be a self-starter, comfortable working independently and thinking on your feet. Accountable for designing plans correctly, you need an expert eye for detail, and tenacity to hold others to IPSL high standards.


Most importantly, you must be presentable with the ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, clients, the public and contractors. Key Requirements:

Along with your positive interest in working in Three Waters, a good level of health and fitness (for physical, manual work) and your ability to work in a team, there are a few other essentials we are looking for in all roles:

  • A working knowledge of installing, maintaining and testing small or large-diameter piping systems. 
  • 5 years within the civil or contracting industry (preferably water infrastructure sector)
  • An understanding of Water Supply networks (transmission and local network) - hydraulics, chlorination, leak detection, pressure management, pumping stations, storage/reservoir facilities, support structures and relevant codes of practice.
  • Established relationships within the South Island contracting and engineering industry.
  • Must hold Full Class 1 driver’s licence (advantageous to have heavy transport licence)
  • Strong safety and quality focus
  • Work experience in civil construction is preferred
  • Familiar with basic maintenance and construction equipment

Truck Driver (Water)

Location: Christchurch (Rolleston)

Pay: $30 – $40 per hour 

Hours: Negotiable

Experience: A Class 5 license with WTR endorsements is essential

About Us:

IPSL is a high-growth pipeline testing & leak detection company based in Rolleston, working throughout the South Island. We need an experienced Truck Driver (Class 5+) to be accountable for transporting water and equipment to civil construction sites and supporting our operational team to pressure test and chlorinate water pipelines. 


The Opportunity:

The role is responsible for maintaining and operating our modern fleet of trucks (DWSNZ 2005 certified) throughout Canterbury and occasionally further afield. Attention to detail and attendance to strict safety and DWSNZ health protocols is essential as you will play a crucial part in achieving IPSL vision of efficiently distributing clean fresh drinking water to everyone, anywhere. 


Being mechanically minded is advantageous as you will be responsible for yard maintenance and ensure that the necessary paperwork such as Pre-Star Checks, daily job records (DJR) and drivers logbook is completed. 

We want hardworking people who like getting their hands dirty and know a job is only finished when the problem is solved, and the client is satisfied! Most importantly, you must be presentable with the ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, clients, the public and contractors.

You will receive Health & Safety and First Aid training and be able to study towards your Heavy Transport Licence and/or Level 2 & 3 National Certificates.

  • At least 3 years’ experience in Three Waters or Certified Plumber/Drainlayer (req. for Water/Drainage Installer and Water Service Technician roles)
  • Level 3 National Certificate in Water Reticulation or equivalent (preferred)
  • An understanding of infrastructure and water reticulation drawings required
  • Proven experience installing, maintaining, and testing small or large diameter pipeline systems
  • An understanding of trenching and excavation safe practices
  • Experience with the safe use of tools, equipment, machinery and chemicals
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety management practices
  • Intermediate level of computer proficiency
  • First Aid certificate
